The Gauri Shinde directorial, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles, is a successful take on storytelling, evolving from mere discussing and conferring to the mental struggle to confronting and accepting it by the end of the movie. The film glorifies therapy and psychiatrist’s sessions and simply normalizing the idea of mental illness. With some happy go music, the film will take you through a mix of emotions, however leaving you teary-eyed and smiling, by the end of it.

This absolute piece of art by Imtiaz Ali touched millions of hearts with its soul-stirring sequences and the exemplification of the complex mental situation of the lead characters in the film. Ranbir as Ved struggles to balance his real identity with the other one, which the society expects him to be. He undergoes a constant conflict of what he is and what he should be, enduring through Borderline personality disorder.
Barfi
Written and directed by Anurag Basu, Barfi is a heartwarming tale of a trio- Murphy Barfi Johnson, a deaf-mute Nepali boy from Darjeeling, and his relationships with two women, Shruti and an autistic Jhilmil. Autism is a disorder of neural development and is characterized by impaired social interaction, communication, and restricted repetitive behavior, and Priyanka Chopra’s performance is commendable in the film.

An unconventional physiological thriller drama, starring Deepika Padukone and Farhan Akhtar, who suffers from inverted schizophrenia in the film. It is a mental disorder characterized by abnormal social behavior and failure to understand reality.
My Name Is Khan
My Name Is Khan features Shah Rukh Khan as Rizwan, a man with Asperger's syndrome. Asperger's is a developmental disorder characterized by significant difficulties in social interaction and nonverbal communication, along with restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior and interests. SRK was lauded for his accurate representation in the film, and Kajol co-starring him unravel the unfortunate events after the twin tower attacks.
Taare Zameen Par
Produced and directed by Aamir Khan, the film explores the life and imagination of Ishaan, an 8-year-old dyslexic child. Dyslexia is a learning disorder that involves difficulty reading due to problems identifying speech sounds and learning how they relate to letters and words. The film features a heart touching struggle story of the 8-year-old Ishaan, played by Darsheel Safary, and the film will make you shed a few tears every time you watch it. The background score by Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy adds the perfect sentiment to the emotional drama.
